Hammerhus - an unique castle
Hammershus is Northern Europe's largest castle ruin and Bornholm's most visited attraction.
Previously, it was assumed that Hammershus was built around 1259, but excavations from 2015 show that the castle was built by the archbishop of Lund, namely Jens Grand, who was archbishop from 1289-1302 – i.e. that the castle was actually only ready at the end of the 13th century.
The castle is unique and here you can really get your imagination going and experience the history of Bornholm.
