Sol over Gudhjem (Sun above Gudhjem)

Sol over Gudhjem is a danish expression of a "smørrebrød" - a sandwich with smoked herring, raw egg yolk, onion rings, chives and radishes. But the expression also refers to the magical light that the sun casts over the sea at sunset.

This sunlight has inspired many artist in more than 100 years - among others the danish and local artist Oluf Høst - and also me.

But it is not only the sunlight, also to a great extent the city of Gudhjem itself, that is known as the only mountain city in Denmark.

This is one of the most special cities on Bornholm. Crooked streets with cozy houses wind their way up the steep cliff.

My art poster "Sol over Gudhjem" is my way of interpreting the city and the special sunlight. An experience that so many people returns to relieve.
